About
Ten-plus years in enterprise software, designing production systems on AWS, GCP and Azure. I now work independently with Italian companies and with English-speaking teams in Japan and abroad: the same engineering problems, two business cultures, one person accountable for the work.
This is a solo practice by choice. It means limited availability and direct access: you work with me, not with a team you never meet.
Capabilities
Legacy modernization
Assessing systems that still work but no longer scale, then replacing them incrementally: without stopping the business.
Cloud system design
Architecture, migration and integration on AWS, GCP and Azure: sized for the team that will actually maintain it.
AI & LLM automation
Applying LLMs to document, support and back-office work where the payback is measurable: and saying so when it isn't.
Typical engagement: a fixed-scope assessment first, then implementation work agreed from what it finds.
Approach
- STEP 1
Read the system first
Code, data and the people who keep it running. No recommendations before the constraints are clear.
- STEP 2
Change in small steps
Reversible increments over rewrites. Each step ships something usable and lowers the risk of the next one.
- STEP 3
Leave it maintainable
Documented, handed over, and operable by your team. A consultant you can stop paying is the point.
